About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Research Assistant to work in the University of Leicester’s Diabetes Research Centre. The M3 program, an NIHR-funded project aimed at creating and evaluating a disease management intervention for adults with early-onset type 2 diabetes, is one of the many health psychology and self-management research projects you will assist as a research assistant.

Supporting research activities like communicating with NHS organizations, gathering and evaluating qualitative data, and securing ethics and governance approvals are among your duties. You will help prepare academic publications and grant proposals, as well as assist with mixed-methods data collecting utilizing programs like NVIVO. In addition, you will interact with study participants, such as patients and medical professionals, and assist in the efficient operation of projects by doing routine reporting and administrative duties.

This is a rare chance to work with scholars from outside the university as well as from within it, and to be a part of an influential research program.

About you

You will have a first degree in a field related to psychology or health services research and have conducted research as a student or in a paid capacity. You must have outstanding writing and verbal communication abilities and be fluent in Microsoft Word and other related tools. It is crucial to have strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to collaborate well with others.

We are seeking someone with a strong desire to contribute to high-caliber research and research potential. Experience or interest in health-related topics would be beneficial, particularly in the areas of cardiovascular disease or diabetes. The ideal applicant will be able to think critically and be willing to travel because part of the job may require visiting other locations.

We invite you to apply if you are thrilled about the chance to join a top research team and help create important health therapies.
